This is the appellation’s very best plot, east-facing with a lot of sun exposure. The wines are high in colour, rich, deep, tannic, with a deliciously elegant finish on the palate. The dominant aromas are black fruits, with blackberry, blackcurrant and cherry coming to the fore. More powerful than other Volnays, this is a wine with excellent ageing potential.
